MOVIELAND – Film Vocabulary is the new page I’ve created for: film geeks;  lawyers and other professionals who often or sometimes meet clients or colleagues  out of office; and for anyone who needs or wishes to make small talk, and occasionally, find themselves struggling to find a better phrase than “I like films”, or “I hate films” (even though they know everything about, say, fast-track trials and the difference between sole and exclusive distributorship).

We’ve all been there sooner or later, I guess; I’ve enjoyed a lot preparing this list of some film-related words and expressions. I hope you’ll enjoy using it!

“There’s nothing wrong with Citizen Kane, but if you’re feeling like garbage, it’s probably not the film you want to watch while you’re down in the dumps. Sometimes you not only want a movie that can lift your spirits; you need that movie… These aren’t just blithely cheerful, brain-dead pictures.
